闡明事情（clarifying）時，可使用本句 "I hope this clears things up."（我希望這樣將事情釐清了。）作結。
概述（summarizing）的理由很多，包括了要把已發生的事情告訴他人，給其作為背景資訊；又或是要讓人掌握大局狀況；也可能是要重申之前的論點有多重要，可善用以下句型 "In summary,..."、"To sum up,..."、"In short,..."、"In a nutshell,..."

該如何下筆呢? 可以參考以下: 1. 用『概括說明』（generalizing）點出分析的要點。 2. 用『闡明』（clarifying）詳細說明先前的要點。 3. 用『概述』（summarizing）來概括陳述要點以補強語氣。 4. 用『結論』（concluding）結尾。

 

Generalizing helps to put points into perspective, while clarifying makes things clear. Summarizing provides emphasis and focus, and concluding offers a good ending to a report.

『概括說明』有助於客觀判斷事情的要點，而『闡明』則可使事情變得清晰。『概述』可提供重點及焦點，而『結論』則可提供報告一個很好的結尾。

 In general,...

e.g. In general, customers are quite satisfied with our products and service.
(一般來說，顧客相當滿意本公司的產品及服務。)

總的來說，⋯

 On the whole,...

e.g. On the whole, the development of the new product has gone smoothly.
(整體而言，新產品的開發進展得很順利。)

 At least...

e.g. Profits have improved. At least for most products they have.
(利潤已有所提高了。至少對他們大多數的產品來說是如此。)

不管怎樣，⋯

 At any rate,...

e.g. The economy looks better. At any rate, it's better for many industries.
(經濟看起來好多了。至少對許多產業來說是如此。)

 To sum up,...　

e.g. To sum up, we need to deal with clients' complaints satisfactorily.
