介紹「除了……外」的用法

表「除了……外」有以下兩種不同的用法：

 

a.     in addition to...

•    In addition to his book on seahorses, Dr. Callow has written books on snails.
除了關於海馬的書籍，卡洛博士也寫關於蝸牛的書。

b.     besides...

•    Besides exercising, Tom also keeps an eye on the food he eats every day.
除了運動外，湯姆每天也注意自己吃的食物。

★    in addition、besides 也可以作副詞片語或副詞，表「除此之外，而且」，使用時後面加逗點，再接主要子句。

•    Stay away from Katherine. She is selfish. In addition / Besides, she tends to lie.
離凱瑟琳遠一點。她為人自私。而且她也愛說謊。

c.     apart from... / aside from...

•    Apart from / Aside from basketball, Hank is also good at tennis.
除了籃球外，漢克也擅長網球。

 

a.     besides... / apart from... / aside from...

•    The twins have few things in common besides / apart from / aside from their appearances.
這對雙胞胎除了外表外，沒有什麼相似處。

b.     other than...

•    Other than seafood, Doris will eat just about anything.
除了海鮮以外，朵莉絲幾乎什麼東西都吃。

c.     except (for)...

•    John got all As, except for a C in math.
約翰的成績除了數學得到 C 以外，其他都獲得 A。

d.     with the exception of...

•    Everyone came to the party with the exception of Gabby.
除了蓋比以外，每個人都來參加派對了。
