• The problem is too complicated to explain.
  = The problem is too complicated for explanation.
  （這個問題太複雜，無法說明。）

 

2. too... not to + V → 太……不致於不…… = ... enough to + V... 句型：S + V... + so + adj./adv. such (a + n.) + as to + V... 如此…以致…

• She is too clever not to know what to do.
  = She is clever enough to know what to do.
  （她太精明了，一定知道該做什麼。）
   

3. not/never too... to + V → 不致於太……而不…… = 反義字 + enough to + V

• A woman of 30 is not too old to get married.
  = A woman of 30 is young enough to get married.
  （三十歲的女人結婚還不致於太晚。）

 

4. 句型：S + V... + happy glad pleased + to + V → 非常高興∕樂意…

• I'm only too glad to meet you there.
  （在那裡跟你會面我非常樂意。）
• He would be only too happy to escort you home.
  （他將非常高興護送你回家。）
