Historically, Patagonia’s economy has been supported by mining and farming. Since the late 20th century, tourism has become an important part of the region’s economy. With its beautiful sights, wide variety of animals, and chances to go on unique adventures, it is no surprise that Patagonia has become a major travel destination.
The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier in the Andes located mainly on the Argentinian side of Patagonia. As one of the largest glaciers in South America, it has become popular for hiking tours, which are run daily from the nearby city of El Calafate.
