　　Spaghetti is one of the most popular dishes around the world. Wherever there are Italian restaurants, you will find spaghetti on the menu. Originally, spaghetti was only served with tomato sauce. Over the years, regional variations of spaghetti have been created across the world. How did this particular dish become so popular?

　　The pasta industry had already prospered in Italy for hundreds of years when early waves of Italian immigrants brought the recipe with them to America in the 20th century. Spaghetti quickly became popular with people outside the Italian- American community. Campbell's Soup Company was the first major American company to market canned noodles. Other international manufacturers such as Del Monte and Barilla soon began marketing dried noodles across the world.
