有時候計畫總是趕不上變化，如果需要改期或取消會議，記得要馬上通知聯絡人。
♦ 在要求改期或取消會議時，可以將 Unfortunately 或 Sorry 等字放在句首表示遺憾之意，以避免觸怒對方，使人不悅。
如：Unfortunately, I'm unable to make the meeting scheduled for Friday morning.
（不巧的是，我無法出席預定在星期五早上的會議。）
這樣下筆就對了~
1. 點出會議將被改期。（I need to postpone our meeting until...）或取消（The meeting has been canceled.）
2. 說明原因。（I'm afraid something has come up.）
3. 告知新的會議時間（The time has been changed to...）並致歉。（I apologize
for the change.）

1. I'm afraid something has come up. / Regretfully, my schedule has changed.
我恐怕臨時有事。／遺憾的是，我的行程有所更動。
- I'm afraid something has come up, so I can't keep our appointment.
我恐怕臨時有事，所以我無法赴約。 - Regretfully, my schedule has changed this week.
遺憾的是，我這星期的行程有所更動。
2. Unfortunately, I'm unable to make the meeting scheduled for (date / day / time).
/ Sorry, but I forgot about (an event / another meeting / appointment, etc.).
不巧的是，我無法於（某日期／某天／某時間）參與會議。／抱歉，我忘記（某事件、其他會議、約定等）。
- Unfortunately, I'm unable to make the meeting scheduled for Friday morning.
不巧的是，我無法出席預定在星期五早上召開的會議。 - Sorry, but I forgot about a colleague's retirement dinner next Saturday.
抱歉，我忘記下星期六有同事的退休晚宴。
3. I need to postpone our meeting until (date / day / time). / Can we reschedule it to (date / day / time)?
我需要將我們的會議延期至（某日期／某天／某時間）。／我們能改期至（某日期／某天／某時間）嗎？
- I need to postpone our meeting until later this week or next week.
我需要將我們的會議延期至本星期稍後或下星期。 - Can we reschedule it to August 8?
我們能把它改期至 8 月 8 日嗎？
4. The time for the meeting has been changed to (date / day / time). / Due to circumstances, the meeting (date / day / time) has been canceled / postponed.
會議的時間已更改為（某日期／某天／某時間）。／基於某些情況，（某日期／某天／某時間）的會議已被取消／延後。
- The time for the meeting has been changed to Thursday.
會議的時間已更改為星期四。 - Due to circumstances, the meeting on Monday has been canceled.
基於某些情況，星期一的會議已被取消。
5. Sorry for any inconvenience. / I apologize for the change.
不便之處，敬請見諒。／對於這項變更我感到抱歉。

Common Mistakes
╳ Please inform them the meeting tomorrow.
○ Please inform them about the meeting tomorrow.
◎ inform 為及物動詞，後面必接人作受詞，再接介詞 of 或 about，inform sb of / about sth 表『告知某人某事』，故第二句才是正確的句子。
