 A  Hey, Paul! What’s new with you?
 B  Not much. What about you?
 A  I have a new boyfriend!
 B  Oh! What’s his name?
 A  ​​​​​​ Nicholas.

 A  嘿，保羅 ！你最近過得如何？
 B  沒什麼特別的。妳呢？
 A  我交了新男友 ！
 B  喔 ！他叫什麼名字？
 A  尼可拉斯。

口語技能 Speaking Skills

 1   問候語 
向熟識的朋友詢問「（你）最近如何？」可以這樣說：

What’s new?
What’s new with you?
What’s up?
How have you been?
 

你可以這樣回應：

 1  表示「很好」：

Great!　　棒極了！
Fine! / Not bad!　　還不錯！
Everything is great / fine.　　一切都很好。
I ’m doing well.　　我過得還不錯。
 

 2  表示「還好」：

Not much. / Nothing much.　　沒什麼特別的。
Same as usual.　　老樣子。
I ’m so-so.　　我過得馬馬虎虎 / 普普通通。
I get by.　　我還過得去。

 2   What / How about you?　　那你呢？

為避免與前面提過的單字或片語重複，可用此問句作為一種簡化的表達方式，如：

I love drinking coffee. Do you love drinking coffee, too?（可）
我愛喝咖啡。你也愛喝咖啡嗎？
→ I love drinking coffee. What / How about you?（佳）
我愛喝咖啡。那你呢？

替換看看 Substitution

 1  「沒什麼特別的。」可以怎麼說 ：

Not much.
Nothing much.

 2  「那你呢？」可以怎麼說 ：

What about you?
