Hayao Miyazaki is globally known for his animated films of Studio Ghibli. This year, he secured his first Golden Globe Award for The Boy and the Heron , which won for Best Animated Feature Film.
The movie, which may be Miyazaki’s last work, tells the story of a boy growing up in Japan during World War II. The Boy and the Heron was partly inspired by Miyazaki’s own childhood experiences. Like the main character in the film, Miyazaki moved from the city to the countryside due to the war.
