Hi, there. This is Peter Lai. I feel very happy to talk to you again.
An expression like“Give somebody a shout-out”. This expression is very useful.
To shout out originally means
"give somebody a shout-out" 或是 "give a shout-out to somebody”
Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to avail myself of this opportunity to give a shout-out to my dear wife Lisa Lai, who has given me all the support through ups and downs.
Lai, please stand up.
Ladies and gentlemen, let's give her a big hand!
(1)I'd like to 不要唸成 I'd like to,那個 d 是不發音 是停住的
avail myself of
就等於 make use of
就是 I’d like to make use of
或是 take advantage of
(3)take advantage of
利用 this opportunity
to give a shout-out to my wife Lisa Lai
who has given me all the support
through ups and downs
Life is full of ups and downs.
Mrs. Lai, please stand up.
Ladies and gentlemen, let's give her a big hand!
Let's give her a big hand! Let’s give her a hand。
Could you please give me a hand?
give me a hand =就是幫我忙的意思
A: Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to avail myself of this opportunity to give a shout-out to my wife Lisa Lai, who has given me all the support through ups and downs.
B: Mrs. Lai, please stand up.
B: Ladies and gentlemen, let's give her a big hand!
