| may / might 的用法 |

1. 表或許∕可能（might 的可能性較 may 更小） |
- They have the same surname. They may be brother and sister.
（他們同姓，也許是兄妹吧。） - She might be out shopping.
（她或許出去購物吧。）

2. 表允許 / 請求（might 比 may 更為客氣） |
- May I smoke in here?
（我可以在這裡面抽菸嗎？） - I wonder if I might use your cellphone.
（不知道是否可以借用一下你的手機。）

3. may have + pp. + → 也許∕可能已經…… |
- This child may have caused trouble.
（這個孩子可能已經惹了麻煩。）
比較 ： - Beware, this child may / might cause trouble.
（這個孩子可能會惹麻煩，要注意。） - Those jewels may have been stolen.
（那些寶石可能已經被偷走。）

- They might / may have crossed the border.
（他們也許也經越過邊境了。）
