If I received a fake gift from my friends or family, there might be a few reasons for it.
1. One is that it was a bargain, so they bought it without a second thought.
2. Another is that they bought it from a seemingly official website.
I would take the following steps.
1. After thanking them, I would ask them where they got it and explain my doubts.
2. I would teach them how to distinguish real items from fake ones.
3. I would show them websites that sell fake goods.
Conclusion
I think they would be more careful the next time they shopped online.
