TIME Magazine Lists Most InfluentialPeople of 2021
TIME magazine published its annual list of Most Influential People for 2021 in September. The list was divided into six categories that included Icons, Pioneers, Titans, and more. At the top of the Icons list were Prince Harry and Meghan Markel. The British royal couple made headlines in early 2021 when they officially rejected their royal duties and moved to the United States.
Among the Pioneers, singer Billie Eilish was recognized for her incredibleachievements in the music industry before turning 20 years old. In the Titans category, US Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Simone Biles topped the list. During the Tokyo Olympics, Biles decided to sit out several competitions to take care of her mental health. Her decision helped raise global awareness of mental health and self-care.
Each person on the list was presented with a short article written by a peer with similar experiences as a way to honor the influential person for their contributions to society and the industry.

Mystery RashAppears in Penghu
In late September, residents across the islands of Penghu County began reporting an itchy rash that appeared on their bodies. Over three days, more than 100 people reported suffering from the condition. Doctors and scientists were puzzled by the cause, but quickly ruled out any possibility of person-to-person infection.
The rash, which patients said was terribly itchy, appeared on parts of the body that were exposed to the air and sunlight. Some suspect that the rashes may have been caused by bug bites, allergic reactions to pollen, or possibly air pollution. However, doctors believe the most probable cause to be caterpillarbristles. Some caterpillars in the region have a mild poison in their bristles, which can be blown around in the air on windy days. People suffering from the rash were advised to use ointments and essential oils to treat their skin.
