S: Simon F: Fanny
Simon and Fanny walk into the entrance of their hotel. Simon looks puzzled as he looks around and finds no one at the counter.
S: Hey, where’s the receptionist? Are you sure we’re at the right hotel?
F: Yep, this is the one. It’s a self-check-in hotel, so there’s no front desk or reception area. Everything is handled digitally.
S: Self-check-in? How does that even work?
F: It’s pretty simple. We check in using either our phones or that kiosk over there. You just enter your reservation details on it.
S: And the hotel just trusts us to do everything ourselves?
F: Basically, yes. The system is fully automated. You verify your ID and settle any payments, and then you get either a digital key on your phone or a physical keycard from the kiosk.
S: So there’s no human interaction at all? What if I need help?
