介紹 until 的用法
until（直到……）可作介詞，後面接某個時間點或與時間相關的字或事件，或作連接詞，後面接子句。用法說明如下：
※ until 用於否定句時，主要子句的動詞為「瞬間或短暫性的動作」，如 arrive、leave、go、begin、realize 等，表「直到……才開始某個動作」，句型如下：
否定句 + until 引導的介詞片語或副詞子句 直到……才……
• Mandy didn’t leave home until Mom came back.
曼蒂一直到媽媽回來才出門。
※ 用於肯定句時，主要子句的動詞為「持續的動作」，如 continue、keep、stay、talk、wait 等，表「做某個持續性動作直到……為止」，句型如下：
肯定句 + until 引導的介詞片語或副詞子句 做……直到……為止
• The customer has to wait until a table becomes available.
這名顧客必須等到有空桌的時候。
※ until 亦常用於 “It is / was” 引導的強勢句構(強調句)中，句型如下：
It is / was not until... + that 子句 直到……才……
• It is not until you learn how to swim that you will understand how much fun it can be.
(原：You will not understand how much fun it can be until you learn how to swim.)
你要學會游泳後才會知道游泳到底有多好玩。
※ 在上述強勢句構中，亦可將 “not until...” 引導的副詞子句或副詞片語置於句首，其後採倒裝句構。
• Not until you graduate from university can you get a job in most places.
(原：You cannot get a job in most places until you graduate from university. )
要等到你大學畢業之後，才有辦法在大部分的地方謀職。
