Unit 49 find it to necessary / find that it is necessary to V？
我們都知道”find”有「發現」的意思，也有「認為」的意思，但它的用法往往許多人會用錯。
find 表「發現、認為」，其用法如下：
a. find 可作完全及物動詞，表「發現」，之後接名詞或 that 引導的名詞子句作受詞。
例 I found the key under the table. (O) (我在桌底下發現了這支鑰匙。)
vt. n.
例 I find (that) French is fun to learn. (O) (我發現學法語很有趣。)
vt. 名詞子句
b. find 亦可作不完全及物動詞，表「發現…是…」，使用時結構如下：
find + 受詞 + 形容詞或名詞（作受詞補語）
find + 受詞 + 形容詞或名詞（作受詞補語）
例 I find the little girl very cute. (O) (我發現這小女孩很可愛。)
不完全vt. 受詞 形容詞（作受詞補語）
例 We all find Ted a genius when it comes to drawing. (O)
不完全vt. 名詞（作受詞補語）
(說到畫畫，我們全都發現泰德是個天才。)
c. find 作不完全及物動詞時，不得直接用 to 引導的不定詞片語作受詞，即不可說：
例 I find to cooperate with him necessary. (X)
不完全vt. 不定詞片語
此時，find 之後應置虛受詞 it，代替實受詞（即 to 引導的不定詞片語），
再將該不定詞片語放在句尾，即：
I find it necessary to cooperate with him. (O) (我發現跟他合作有必要。)
不完全vt. 虛受詞 實受詞
= I find (that) it is necessary to cooperate with him. (O)
完全vt. 虛主詞 實主詞
= I find (that) cooperating with him is necessary. (O)
完全vt. 實主詞
(to cooperate with him 移至 that 子句句首時，宜變成動名詞片語 cooperating with him）
由上得知：
例 I find to learn French fun. (X) (我發現學法語很有趣。)
不完全vt. 不定詞片語
→ I find it fun to learn French. (O)
不完全vt. 虛受詞 實受詞
= I find (that) it is fun to learn French. (O)
完全vt. 虛主詞 實主詞
= I find (that) learning French is fun. (O)
完全vt. 實主詞
( to learn French 移至 that 子句句首時，宜變成動名詞片語 learning French ）
d. 表「認為」的動詞（如 consider、deem 及 think）用法如 find，
可作完全及物動詞，亦可作不完全及物動詞。
可作完全及物動詞，亦可作不完全及物動詞。
I think / deem / consider to protect my children my duty. (X)
不完全 vt. 不定詞片語 受詞補語
→ I think / deem / consider it my duty to protect my children. (O)
不完全 vt. 虛受詞 受詞補語
= I think / deem / consider (that) it is my duty to protect my children. (O)
完全 vt. 虛主詞 實主詞
= I think / deem / consider (that) protecting my children is my duty. (O)
完全 vt. 實主詞
(我認為保護我的孩子是我的責任。)
