實用會話 Dialogue 

            My friend Lana is quite talented. She is an excellent pianist. If she were to play the piano for you, you’d swear Mozart had been reincarnated. She is also good at drawing and painting, and she is a wonderful cook. If she were to paint your portrait, you’d think it was a photograph. If she were to cook you a meal, you’d dream about that meal for an entire month.

            Yet, she never boasts about her abilities like some people do. Perhaps that’s why she is such a popular girl. Everyone likes her and wants to spend time with her because she is interested in people and actually listens to what other people say. If she were to boast about how talented she was, I’m sure some people would start to dislike her. But Lana would never do that. A modest person never boasts.

            我的朋友拉娜十分有才華。她是很傑出的鋼琴家。假如她為你彈了鋼琴，你會發誓莫札特轉世了。她也擅長素描與畫畫，她的廚藝也很棒。她要是畫你的肖像畫，你會以為那是一張照片。她要是為你煮一頓飯，你整個月都會想著那頓飯。

            然而，她從不像某些人一樣吹噓自己的能力。或許這是為什麼她是個如此受歡迎的女孩。所有人都喜歡她並想和她相處，因為她對人們感興趣，也真的會傾聽別人所說的話。如果她炫耀自己多有才華，我確信有些人會開始討厭她。但拉娜絕對不會這麼做。謙虛的人從不吹噓。
