☑ 以上各句正答均為由對等連接詞所連接的句子。

「對等連接詞」在文法上具有連接對等的單字、片語或子句的功能,可省略重覆的字詞,使句子更流暢。

對等連接詞可分為基本的對等連接詞,以及由其所變化成的片語式「對等相關連接詞」,可連接平行的單字、片語及子句。分別說明如下:

➊ 基本的對等連接詞

基本的對等連接詞有四個:and(而且)、but(但是)、or(或者;否則)及 so(所以)。其中 so 只能連接子句,其餘三者則可連接單字、片語及子句。

ⓐ 連接單字

Michael and I went dancing last night.
   名詞               名詞(作主詞)
麥可和我昨晚去跳舞了。
We were tired but happy.
                  形容詞        形容詞(作主詞補語)
我們累了,不過卻很開心。
You may stay or leave as you choose.

➋ 對等相關連接詞

由基本的對等連接詞 and、but、or 可變化出以下片語式的「對等相關連接詞」,用來連接單字、片語或子句。
