In just about every culture on Earth, humans have employed the local animals to work for them. In many countries, dogs are used in various ways. Police dogs, hunting dogs, and service dogs are just a few examples of roles that dogs take on. While in Qatar, people use falcons or other hunting birds to hunt.
The roots of falconry go far back in time. The story goes that around the 7th century, a Persian king once watched a falcon capture a bird. He was so amazed that he decided to capture the falcon to learn from it. He did this and afterwards became a wise and patient ruler. Whether the story is true or not, falcons have been a part of Arab culture for many years. In the desert, a falcon can provide its owner with meat that they would be unlikely to catch on their own. Today, falconry in Qatar is more like a sport. Trainers have their falcons compete in hunts, races, and beauty events.
Wealthy Qataris practice falconry for pride, fun, and education. They still believe that training a falcon can train one’s mind. But they don’t come cheap! Prized falcons sell for as much as (or more than) a fancy car.

have、get 作使役動詞時帶有「叫/使得、讓」的意思，加了受詞後，可用不定詞片語(to V)或過去分詞 作受詞補語，用法如下:
1. have + 受詞 + 原形動詞(第一天文章中的用法)
= get + 受詞 + to + 原形動詞
叫/使某人做⋯⋯
例：The boss had the secretary type the letter for him.
老闆叫祕書幫他打那封信。
例：Mom gets me to take out the trash every night.
我媽每天晚上都叫我去丟垃圾。
2. have / get + 受詞 + 過去分詞
把⋯⋯(被)⋯⋯(通常指請他人代勞) *第二天文章中的用法。
例：Bill had / got his hair cut by his sister.
比爾請他的姊姊替他剪頭髮。請依句意在空格內填入適當的字詞
1. 早在人們發現農業之前，他們就用狗來幫助他們打獵。
