Roger Federer Announces Retirement
Roger Federer announced his retirement from the sport of tennis professionally in a social media post on September 15.He said he would stop playing competitively after the Laver Cup in London in lateSeptember.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner recognized that after playing more than 1,500 matches in 24 years, it was finally time for him to retire. He mentioned physical health as one of the main factors in his choice. Federer had to undergo two knee surgeries in 2020, and another one in 2021.
