介紹「對過去事實的推測」之用法
※ may have + 過去分詞 很可能∕也許曾經……
• I may have left my phone on the bus since I rushed to get off it.
我很可能把手機留在公車上，因為我當時趕著下車。
※ might have + 過去分詞 很可能∕也許曾經……
• Ricky might have told me the time of the meeting, but I zoned out.
瑞奇可能有跟我說開會的時間，但我恍神了。
✽ 用 may 所表示的可能性高於用 might。
※ must have + 過去分詞 一定∕必定曾經……
✽ 推測某事一定已經發生，為強烈的肯定猜測語氣。
• My brother must have entered my room since one of my comic books disappeared.
我弟一定有進過我房間，因為我的一本漫畫不見了。
※ can’t / cannot have + 過去分詞 不可能曾經……
✽ 表對過去事實的否定推測。
• You can’t have listened to the singer’s latest song since she hasn’t released it yet.
你不可能聽過那位歌手的新歌，因為她都還沒發布。
※ 若表猜測的句構為疑問句時，要用「Could + 主詞 + have + 過去分詞?」。
• Could Sheila have called me last night? We had an argument at school.
席拉昨晚有可能打給我嗎？我們在學校吵了一架。
※ 用「could have + 過去分詞」時，則是指原本可能發生，但卻沒有發生。
• Al could have caught the last train, but there was a traffic jam on his way to the station.
艾爾本來可以趕上最後一班火車，但他去車站的路上遇到塞車。
答案: Bill could have scored 100, but he chose a wrong answer.
