meet 本身是「相遇」、「見面」、「聚會」等意思，根據使用時機，meet 的搭配詞可以分為以下幾個類別：
1 與人見面相關：
meet someone 與某人見面或相遇
meet with someone 與某人會面或舉行會議
meet in person 親自與某人見面
- I'm excited to meet my new classmates on the first day of school.（我很期待在開學的第一天見到我的新同學。）
- The manager wants to meet with you to discuss the project.（經理想要與你會面，討論這個項目。）
- After chatting online for months, they finally decided to meet in person.（在網上聊了幾個月後，他們最終決定親自見面。）
meet up 碰面、聚會
- I haven't seen my old friends in years, so we decided to meet up this weekend.（我好多年沒見到我的老朋友們了，所以我們決定這個周末見個面。）
- Are you free this evening? Let's meet up and grab a drink.（你今晚有空嗎？我們見面喝個小酒吧。）
- They met up at the coffee shop after work to catch up on each other's lives.（下班後，他們在咖啡店碰面，互相聊聊彼此的生活。）
2 面對挑戰或困難：
meet challenges 應對挑戰
meet the challenge (of...) 應對、迎接（……的）挑戰
meet a challenge head-on 堅決應對挑戰，沒有回避
- As you go through life, you'll need to learn how to meet various challenges.（在生活中，你需要學會如何應對各種挑戰。）
- Our team worked together to meet the challenges of the project.（我們的團隊共同合作，應對了這個項目的挑戰。）
- As you grow older, you'll learn how to meet the challenges of life.（隨著年齡的增長，你會學會如何應對生活中的各種挑戰。）
- She met the challenge of learning a new language with determination.（她以堅決的決心應對了學習一門新語言的挑戰。）
- Instead of avoiding difficult tasks, it's better to meet the challenge head-on.（與其回避困難任務，最好堅決應對挑戰。）
3 達成目標：
meet a deadline / meet the deadline 按時完成任務或工作
meet a goal / meet a target 達到設定的目標
- Make sure to manage your time well to meet the deadline for your project.（確保管理好你的時間，以按時完成項目的截止日期。）
- He worked hard to meet his sales target for the month.（他努力工作以完成本月的銷售目標。）
4 滿足需求、要求 或 期待：
meet the demand 滿足需求
meet someone's needs 滿足某人的需求
- The company needs to increase production to meet the demand for their products.（公司需要增加生產以滿足對其產品的需求。）
- Our goal is to design products that meet our customers' needs.（我們的目標是設計能滿足客戶需求的產品。）
meet the request 滿足(某人的)要求
- The hotel staff was quick to meet our request for extra pillows.（酒店工作人員很快滿足了我們要求額外枕頭的請求。）
meet expectations 符合或達到期望
- She always strives to meet her parents' high expectations.（她總是努力滿足父母的高期望。）
- The team worked hard to meet the coach's high expectations.（團隊努力工作，以達到教練的高期望。）
