表『一……就……』的副詞子句

句型 (1)：As soon as + S + V..., S + V...

• As soon as he came home, he went to bed.
  （他一回到家就上床睡覺。）
• I got up as soon as the alarm clock went off.
  （鬧鐘一響我就馬上起床。）

 

句型 (2)：The moment / minute / instant + S + V..., S + V...

• The moment you get it done, call me.
  （你一完成就打電話給我。）
• She walked away the instant she saw him.
  （她一看到他就走開了。）

 

• I had no sooner made the phone call than I regretted it.
  = I had hardly made the phone call when / before I regretted it.
  （我剛一打電話就後悔了。）

 

 

《補充說明》 

no sooner, hardly, scarcely 置於句首時，需倒裝，如：
No sooner had I made the phone call than I regretted it.

 

句型 (4)：On / Upon + n. / v-ing..., S + V...

• Upon graduation, Henry joined the navy.
  （亨利一畢業便加入海軍。）
• On seeing her boyfriend, she burst out crying.
  （一看到她男友，她就嚎啕大哭起來。）

 

句型 (5)：At the / one's + n, S + V...

• At the sight of cockroaches, most girls will scream.
  （一看到蟑螂大多數女孩就會尖叫。）
• I went to check on the doors and windows at her suggestion.
  （一聽到她的建議，我就去檢查門窗。）

 

句型 (6)：Directly / Immediately + S + V..., S + V...（英式用法）

• Immediately she saw him, she fell in love with him.
  （她一看到他就愛上他了。）

 

 

句型 (7)：Once + S + V..., S + V...

• Once you get a feel for the game, you'll love it.
  （一旦得心應手之後，你就會喜歡上這種遊戲。）
