• I just saw a frog jump/jumping into the pond.
  （我剛剛看到一隻青蛙跳進池塘裡。）
• She heard her name called in her dream.
  （在夢中她聽到有人在叫她的名字。）

 

句型(2)： S + have make + O. + ① V.（主動） ② pp.（被動）

• He will have someone service your car.
  = He will have your car serviced (by someone).
  = He will get someone to service your car.
  （他會找人來維修你的車。）
   

句型(3)： S + let + O. + ① V.（主動） ② be + pp.（被動）

• I won't let you go alone.
  （我不會讓你單獨前往。）
• Let it be fixed at once.
  （讓這個東西立刻被修好。）
   

句型(4)： All/What + you, we, they, I + do they, I / did is + (to) V.

• All I did was (to) give her a wink.
  （我當時所做的只是向她使個眼色而已。）
• What you have to do is (to) say sorry.
  （你必須做的是說聲抱歉而已。）

 

句型(5)： S + cannot (help) but + V　　只好……；忍不住…… = S + cannot help + V-ing = S + have no choice / alternative / option but + to V.

• I couldn't but nod in agreement.
  = I couldn't help nodding in agreement.
  = I had no choice but to nod in agreement.
  （我忍不住點頭表示同意。
   

句型(6)： S + help + (O.) + ① to V ② V 幫助…；有助於…

• Can you help me (to) find my glasses?
  （你能幫我找眼鏡嗎？）
• Regular exercise can help (to) improve your metabolism.
  （規律的運動有助於改善你的新陳代謝。）

 

句型(7)：S + do nothing but + V 除……之外，甚麼也沒做

• Babies do nothing but eat and sleep most of the time.
  （大部分的時候嬰兒只是在吃跟睡而已。）

《補充說明》

1. desire nothing but + to V. → 只想要⋯⋯
2. think of nothing but + V-ing → 只想到⋯⋯

 

句型(8)：Why (not) + V...? 為何（不）……？

• Why pretend that you don't care?
  （你為何要假裝不在乎呢？）
• Why not stay for lunch?
  （何不留下來吃中飯？）
